Lamb County Warrant RecordsLamb County Warrant Records

The court named on the paperwork is your first stop. Lamb County splits its records among several offices, and no countywide name search exists. The Sheriff can point service questions in the right direction. The District Clerk, County Clerk, Justices of the Peace, and city courts each hold the files for their own cases. A caption, citation, city, or precinct tells you which office to call in Lamb County.

Checking for a Warrant in Lamb County

Figure out which court probably holds the case. Felonies sit with the 154th District Court and the Lamb County District Clerk. County-level misdemeanors belong to the County Court and its clerk. Fine-only traffic or ordinance cases may live in a Justice of the Peace precinct or a city municipal court instead. The county attorney FAQ is blunt: no county office can verify or confirm an arrest warrant. So take your question straight to the court that may have issued it, and don't treat a general inquiry as the final word on warrant status. A case caption, a citation, the city, and the precinct all help narrow the path. Helping a family member? Stick with information they have authorized you to use, and let the court explain what ID it needs. If an arrest might be involved, talk with a lawyer about safe next steps before walking into any office.

  1. Sort the matter by court level and city or JP precinct.
  2. Call the clerk or court using its official county or city contact page.
  3. Ask what case details and identification the office needs to locate its own record.
  4. Check the DPS FTA/FTP tool only for reported failure-to-appear or failure-to-pay matters.
  5. Ask the issuing court how to address a listed case and when its record will update.

Lamb County Has No Countywide Warrant Portal

Lamb County publishes no single county warrant search. The Sheriff's Office page offers contact details and a general contact form, nothing more. There is no public warrant list and no search fields. The county and district attorney FAQ says a county office cannot confirm whether a person has an arrest warrant. The boundary is clear enough. The Sheriff can route a law-enforcement question, but the issuing court is the place to ask about its own case record.

The Lamb County Sheriff's official page shows its public contact route and address. It publishes no name-search tool.

Lamb County Warrant Types

Process follows the court and the case stage. A Texas magistrate may issue an arrest warrant on a sworn complaint backed by probable cause. Miss a setting, and failure-to-appear process can follow; leave a fine-and-cost judgment unpaid, and a capias pro fine under Chapter 45A may issue. A JP or municipal court can issue process within its own authority. A search warrant is a separate investigative order, not part of this flow.

The Four Lamb County JP Courts Keep Separate Records

Lamb County's justice courts sit by precinct, tied to Olton, Earth, Littlefield, and Sudan. JP1 lists Judge Becky DeBerry and bureau code 9821263. JP2 lists Judge Brad Bridges at 208 W Main Street in Earth, phone (806) 257-2042. JP3 lists Judge Tim Walker in Room 108 at the courthouse, phone (806) 485-0052, email lambcojp3@co.lamb.tx.us, and bureau code 2541584. JP4 lists Judge Melton Hanna in Sudan, phone (806) 227-2048. Each JP court in Lamb County keeps its own records. Check the official pages for current details, since the county lists JP2's Earth location and contact on its court page.

Inside a Lamb County Warrant Record

Lamb County publishes no warrant sample or status-code glossary. Ask the court what it can release about the caption, cause or citation number, offense, process type, dates, and disposition. Fields vary by court. No local number pattern or universal status label is published.

Court captionIdentifies the District Court, County Court, justice precinct, or municipal court that owns the matter.
Cause or citation numberUseful for routing; a local warrant-number format was not published in the reviewed sources.
Offense or judgmentUse the official case label if available. A traffic citation, ordinance case, and felony charge are different records.
Process and datesThe court may describe an arrest warrant, bench warrant, capias, or capias pro fine and explain recorded dates.
Bond or next stepThe DA FAQ says a judge sets bond. The county does not publish a general bond schedule or warrant-status code list.

Lamb County Clerks Route Records by Court Level

The 154th District Court is the felony trial court for Lamb County. District Clerk Debbie Long sits in Room 212 at the courthouse, (806) 485-0071, and the county publishes 154districtclerk@co.lamb.tx.us for open-records requests. County-level misdemeanor and probate records go through the County Clerk, who serves the County Court; Rene Trevino is listed in Room 103 at (806) 485-0053. The County Clerk's request form spells out the costs: a $5 search fee, $1 per page for copies, and a $5 certification fee. The form also warns that the office need not run complicated searches and gives no legal advice. One more note: criminal payment bureau 5753376 is not for traffic violations. Keep your purpose straight here. Asking for a copy of an existing record is one thing; asking a clerk to confirm whether a current warrant exists is another. The County Clerk page links its public-record request form and payment vendor for Lamb County filers.

Issuing and Serving Warrants in Lamb County

Courts issue process; peace officers serve it. The 154th District Court handles felony trials, County Court handles county misdemeanors, and JPs and municipal courts handle matters within their jurisdiction. A magistrate may issue an arrest warrant on a sworn probable-cause complaint, directed to an officer for service under its terms. The Sheriff is the countywide law-enforcement contact in Lamb County. Littlefield Police serves the county seat. A police inquiry form does not search the municipal docket, so contact the city court about a citation or case and the police for law-enforcement routing.

Lamb County DPS and OmniBase Check Only FTA/FTP Reports

DPS and OmniBase track one narrow slice: failure-to-appear and failure-to-pay cases reported by justice and municipal courts. Enter a driver-license number and birth date, and the system may flag an unresolved offense or a hold on your license renewal. That is not a warrant search. Lamb County readers should know it covers no county, state, or federal warrants, and DPS retired its old Warrant Databank. Driver records can take three to five business days to update after a case closes, DPS cautions. OmniBase posts 1-800-686-0570 for questions. Call the court that reported the matter to resolve it. A blank result does not rule out a warrant from every Lamb County court.

If You Have a Warrant in Lamb County

Figure out which court issued the warrant first. That answer shapes everything else. A lawyer can pull the record and talk through options with that court directly. Lamb County posts no surrender instructions, bond window, recall form, or set bond amount, so do not count on a courthouse visit or a vendor payment to close the matter.

Before acting: Ask a lawyer or the issuing court what procedure applies, and confirm when any payment or appearance will update the court record.

JP3 gives its citations several paths: payment plans, community service, indigency review, deferred disposition, eligible driver-safety courses, proof of correction, and trial. Its own form warns that missing an appearance can trigger warrant process. Other courts in Lamb County set their own options. A prosecutor may explain bond basics, though the county FAQ states plainly that no county office will confirm an outstanding warrant for you. Hold onto the case number and every receipt. Ask the court when the resolution will be recorded, then follow up with that same court.

Lamb County Municipal Courts Serve Five Communities

OCA lists municipal courts for five Lamb County communities: Amherst, Earth, Littlefield, Olton, and Sudan. Each one keeps its own records on ordinance and traffic Class C cases. That court controls the settings, the payments, and the process. None of these cities posts a public warrant roster. Littlefield's court is not a court of record, and it handles traffic, parking, ordinance, and Class C matters; if you miss an appearance there, its guidance is to contact the court the next business day. For a citation or court date question, skip the city police inquiry form and call the city court itself.

Lamb County Warrant Records and Public Access

Government Code Chapter 552 governs local public-information requests, though exceptions apply, and court records follow court-specific rules instead. To request a document, name it, name the custodian, and add a helpful date or case number. Remember that a records request is not a live warrant check. Juvenile warrant records stay confidential under Family Code Chapter 58, and sealed or investigative material can be restricted too.

Access rules:

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 provides the Public Information Act framework and recognizes protected information.

Texas Family Code Chapter 58 protects juvenile justice information, including juvenile arrest warrant records.

Texas Attorney General request guidance explains how to submit a written public-information request.

Lamb County Federal Warrants Follow a Separate Lubbock Route

Federal cases never sit in Lamb County court files. Lamb County belongs to the Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division. PACER opens federal dockets, and the U.S. Marshals Service serves federal warrants. A local clerk, city, or DPS result is not a federal search. PACER runs on its own account and fee rules. A docket entry alone does not prove an active warrant, so ask the court or counsel to interpret it. The Lubbock Division page is the official starting point for federal court location and contact.

Lamb County Warrants by City

A municipal warrant question starts with the court named on the citation. County criminal matters route through county or district court instead. Lamb County's five incorporated cities keep separate court records, and none posts a public city warrant roster. Use each city page for its own contacts and process.
